Balance Principal
A fundamental principle in all inorganic systems appears to be balance, as matter tends toward disorder, increased entropy, and equilibrium according to the laws of thermodynamics.
Living, *self-organizing* systems develop in the opposite direction and become increasingly ordered. Life thus appears to posit a force that counters decay and entropy. Yet, living organisms internalize the same principle of balance, both individually and collectively in ecosystems. Is life perhaps an innate possibility, or a "natural" consequence, of chemical and thermodynamic processes under the right conditions?
Furthermore, imbalance in living systems often cause disease on an individual level and conflict (war) on a collective level. The inferior, weaker part will typically reinforce itself and strive to restore the balance.
